STIS Update and News

In case you are familiar with my projects or are a Swiss public transportation traveler with a Twitter account, you might have heard of my SBB Train Information System on Twitter.

In the past couple of weeks a lot of changed behind the scenes. Jürg Stuker from namics mentioned the system to some employees at the Swiss postal service “Die Post” in a talk he gave. Thank you for that Jürg. Beside that quiet a lot of SBB employees have started following the tweets. Some are managers for offline and online media, others are IT guys. Good to see that the SBB is interested in the service. Maybe now we can finally talk about an API or anything like that. Not only for STIS, but also for Transport or other systems out there.

Besides that I have also added a few new stations. They are:

  • Landquart in the beautiful canton of Graubuenden
  • St. Gallen, great city in Switzerland’s east
  • Schaffhausen, one of my favorite places in Switzerland 😉

With so many different accounts you can follow I have create a new list on Twitter. Just subscribe to my sbb-bots list and you see all bots or can follow them individually.
