Netflix Releases Solution Dataset

The Netflix Prize has been decided for almost three months now and the Grand Prize of one million dollars has been handed over to the winning team(s) BellKor’s Pragmatic Chaos on Monday 21st of September. And Netflix has kept their promise to release the solution dataset via the UCI Machine Learning Repository. As of now everybody can download the “judging.txt” file as well as the winning submission.
This could be important for our challenge project because now we have even more data and a subset we can use to verify our data faster than with the current manual cd-burning-and-delivering way.

You can download the three papers of the winning team below.

Y. Koren, “The BellKor Solution to the Netflix Grand Prize”, (2009).

A. Töscher, M. Jahrer, R. Bell, “The BigChaos Solution to the Netflix Grand Prize”, (2009).

M. Piotte, M. Chabbert, “The Pragmatic Theory solution to the Netflix Grand Prize”, (2009).

I have to admit I haven’t fully read them all. But that is on top of my to-do list.
