Update 12:00: Cablecom confirms on their website problems with the Internet connectivity. No ETA or reason is given though …
According to various reports on Twitter, Swiss Internet Service provider Cablecom is down for service, including TV and Phone, all across Switzerland. Reports are reaching to us from Zurich, both sides of the Lake of Zurich, Berne, Rudolfstetten and others. And even worse is the fact, that the support center is not reachable. The lines are occupied all the time.
The online network status page does not show any problems. Confirmed is the outage in some places for over 12 hours. Pretty bad for one of the largest two ISPs in Switzerland…
Please report if the services are down for you and in what area.
Update: superpixel reports, that some parts of Zurich aren’t affected by today’s outage.
List where the service is down:
– Luzern
– Zurich
– Berne
– Jona
– Wollerau
– Rudolfstetten
– Wohlen
List where the service is not down:
– Wetzikon
– Zurich Oerlikon
– different part of Berne
This was annoying indeed. I already got angry last week, when they kicked BBC World Service out – don’t send it anymore on cable, even though they offer >40 radio channels! Instead you can listen to about 15 stations from Germany, France and Austria and a big bunch of local radios which are not all too different from each other – that sucks!
Hi André
Thanks for the information. I have to say, I am not a Cablecom TV or radio customer. I like the freedom of the Internet. But have you contacted Cablecom and asked about why they dropped BBC World Service? Maybe the reason(s) could be something other than fu**ing their customers 😉
