You use Google, Yahoo, Live.com or whatever search engine every day. The most important thing a search engine hast to do is give you the right result(s) for your query. So, what you really care about is the relevance of the results. You don’t care how long it took the search engine to come up with the results.
So why do almost all search engines still show the time it took to come up with your results? Because they were developed by men.

Oh, and have you seen, that Altavista has the most results followed by Yahoo? Another method to compare sizes
