Mac OS X: Finder fails to connect to Windows File Server

I am having trouble connecting to our Windows File Server for a couple of days now. Finder always gives me this error message:

Changing my password or using the server’s ip did not solve the problem. Next I tried to connect with the command line tools smbclient. That worked perfectly. But what the hell? I want to use Finder to connect to the server.
Has anybody an idea what the problem could be or what else I can try?
