Legalize Your MP3 Library

We all know its legal to download music and movies from the Internet if you live in Switzerland. But thanks to Amazon and a cheap dollar, you can buy your downloaded mp3 library!
Amazon launched their MP3 store. Although its only open to US-American citizens, I was able to buy, download and play a MP3 file. And the Amazon’s downloader automatically stores your files into the iTunes folder. Pretty cool 🙂

Following are some screenshots of the simple and quick process of buying a song.

As you can see all tags are set correctly, artwork is included and the song is encoded at 256 kbit/s. And a quick scan inside the mp3 didn’t show me any personal data.

The price for a song is different but is at $0.99 max (= 1.16 CHF/0.70 €). Amazon offers complete albums for a price between $9.00 and lower as $4.99! The new Fergie Album goes for $8.99 (= 10.55 CHF/6.37 €). Apple wants $12.80 (= 15.- CHF) for the same.

I have not found an option to re-download your purchased songs, but I hope they offer this somewhere.

Weder Adresse noch Kreditkarte wird überprüft.
Es muss einfach eine gültige Postleitzahl sein. Und da ich die von Central New York kenne, liegt Rapperswil jetzt im schönen Staate New York 🙂
