Services/Software/Tools I Am No Longer Using

Not using anymore

  • ICQ (www.icq.com): For weeks I am not able to log in in my account – 45612103 – and the password reset function sucks. So if you have me on your ICQ list and still want to stay in contact with me, send me an email or add me on Jabber (both cocaman@.gmail.com)
  • Joost (www.joost.com): The software has not moved in the direction I was hoping for. I still don’t care about Paris Hilton movies or strongest men shows.
  • Babelgum (www.babelgum.com): See above…
  • Second Life (www.secondlife.com): What a hype, what a crap, what a disappointment
  • Flock (www.flock.com): Dude, dah. Open your eyes. It’s Firefox with another skin, some extensions and another publisher-id in the Google Search results.
  • Plazes (www.plazes.com): How can you screw up such a cool service so big? Turn back time and give me the basics. A location tracker! For traveling there is Dopplr, for micro-blogging there is Twitter and for reviews there is Qype/Yelp/Google Maps. And the Plazer tool crashes more than an old Windows 98.
  • Students.ch (www.stutends.ch): My dear friends… You got bough by Axel Springer in April 2007 and still your website and service sucks. I am not saying your offers are bad or you don’t have some great tools on it, but PLEASE, work on your infrastructure. I can’t imagine how you can live with such a slow/bad/sucky connection. Take some money from Axel Springer, buy some webservers and work this out. A login takes more than 5 minutes, if it works!
  • Technorati (www.technorati.com): Way to slow in updating. And somehow the integration with WordPress is buggy. For the past 2 weeks it didn’t update the backlinks in my dashboard. Or should I blame WordPress for that? But their “Blog Stats” work.
