Microformats – ein Blogstöckchen/a blogstick

Deutscher Teil – English part

Hey, Timo, Gabor, Franz, Oliver, Cédric fangt.

English part – German part
Markus Tressl trow a blogstick in my direction that originally came from Matthias Pfefferle, who currently writes his bachelor thesis about “Integration of Web2.0 contents in Smart Products”.

Do you write from time to time reviews?
Yes I do. I write reviews for this blog and some other websites.

Have you heard of microformats (hReview in particular)?
Of course. But it took me a little while before I understood what they are for and how to use them. And today I try to explain microformats to other people.
A little while ago I did a little hRevie plug-in for Drupal.
And on this blog all posts are in hAtom (default by K2).

What do you think of the topic “microformats and their machine readability” in blogs?
under adherence to the CC licenses
I can see a database full of “copied” reviews… The idea is of course good, but not everybody is willing to share his content (myself I don’t have a CC license on my content, but it gets stolen anyway).

In your opinion, what speaks for using the hReview-format?
The machine readability. It opens new doors for syndication of content and collecting information/data.

In your opinion, what speaks against using the hReview-format?
The machine readability. It opens new doors for syndication of content and collecting information/data. Everything can be copied more easily and sites with stolen or borrowed content shows up.

What microformats do you use?
I use hCard on our BarCamp website for listing participants of the BlogCamp. This blog uses hAtom for the posts. For some other websites I use hCard for contact information.

Have you heard of the “Structured Blogging” plug-in for WordPress and MovableType?
I have heard of it but don’t use it.

Do you believe that microformats have a future? Why or why not?
Yes I believe in the future of microformats. Not only because the next versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer are supporting them, but because we need something to syndicate content.

Maybe I should through the stick to Chris, Philipp, /pd
